Bio
Hailey Thornton and Sarah Ussery formed the acoustic band Vonnegutrade in a dorm room their freshman year of college. With Hailey's love for expression and exploration through lyrics and Sarah's melodic ear, they quickly began to work together to craft songs. Their vocal style is heavily influenced by the harmonic vocals in The Civil Wars, Fleet Foxes and Band of Horses, coupled with soft melodies like those heard in the music of Copeland, Sarah Bareilles, and Feist.
A year ago, the duo began performing at various venues around their local North Carolina town. The hard work behind the release of their recent EP, mercy & grace, gave them a growing fan base and wider recognition.
