Bio
The Ruby Tailight’s Martin Kelly from Dublin has spent the last two and a bit years playing supports around Dublin. Initially this was a one man and guitar act but has since become a full live band.
Songs were conceived on a four track tape machine have now been transformed into a finished debut album “Dressing up”.
At this moment in time, having played only a handful of gigs with a complete band, The Ruby taillights have been receiving very favourable attention, even resulting in Martin being asked to co-host “The last Splash” on today FM.
“The Ruby Tailights have all the qualities of my favourite bands wrapped up in one. They can remind you of the Pixies, a bit of Pavement and some Guided by Voices all at the same time”
(Alison Curtis, Today FM)
Recorded and produced by long time friend and singer Joe Chester, the debut is first and foremost a collection of honest pop songs. It’s simply about escape, and that strange “end of summer” feeling.
It just is what it is!
“ Stunning songs that are at once as delicate as a butterfly’s caress and that carry the weight of a heavy weight hay-maker”
(John Walshe, Hotpress)
Most recently, The Ruby Tailights were asked to play the IMRO showcase tour and were subsequently asked to play at the “Best of Tour” night in the Village in Dublin.
