The Jackards play pop like it’s a full-contact sport. Licking the shiny edges of soul-swinging motown theatrics, classic pop indulgences and 90’s rock shenanigans, The Jackards trio drive a painfully tight ruckus with brazen relish.
None of the three musicians are strangers to the Perth circuit. All have blistered their hands and grinned like pigs in shit as they’ve inhaled the potent musical orgy that is Perth’s scene. Now, the stars are aligned, The Jackards are one, and your dancing shoes may never be the same again.
The 2010 WAMi (West Australian Music Industry) Season delivered WAMi Award nominations to The Jackards for Favourite Newcomer and front man Glenn Sarangapany for Best Instrumentalist. The Jackards’ track Lonely featured on the Kiss My WAMi Compilation CD. The Jackards also played a coveted spot at the WAMi Festival Saturday Spectacular Closing Party, joining Jebediah, Will Stoker & The Embers, Emperors, and some.
Debut album Attack of The Jackards has been spinning on radio stations across Australia since it’s release through Firestarter in November 2009 and is available nationally through all good record stores and online.
The Jackards wrapped up 2009 and their first year of existence with a run of killer shows; playing Northbridge Festival; packing out Amplifier in Perth for the launch of their debut album; and supporting Bodyjar on the WA leg of The End Is Now Tour.
