It seems like the rock scene in Italy is thriving at the moment. Although we have yet to see an Italian band really take on the world and win, there are lot of promising bands doing the rounds over in the land of spaghetti and pizza. One such band is The Electric Diorama from Rome, who have an impressive album out on Nerdsound/Ammonia Records. Entitled "Lifemale", it features tracks such as "Oh Dear, Now I'm Sure, I Hate You" which fans of Good Charloote, Falla Out Boy and the like will love. That said the band aren't afraid to experiment: "You Brought Drama Into Diorama" begins as a hevier industrialised rock powerhouse and morphs into an instrumental epic, while "There's No Quiet In Here" starts off where "You Brought Drama..." finished before adding pop-rock vocals into the mix. Oh and the album intro is an avant-garde evaporation of synths and sounds. The band are very polished and ingenious with catchy tunes that mix a variety of styles such a pop-punk/rock and electro. Currently TED have a lot of shows going on in Italy but we think it's time they hurried over to the UK. - Shari
- Andrea La Placa

Bio
THE ELECTRIC DIORAMA is a 5-piece band based in Rome. They were co-founded by Helio Di Nardo ( ex-session player for Vanilla Sky- Universal Music ) and Francesco Catitti. The band has chosen to follow the musical binaries covered by bands like 30 Seconds to Mars, Fall Out Boy, Panic! At the Disco and My Chemical Romance, putting all together, and still in an unique way in Italy, the musical impact and the melody of the upmentioned bands plus a more consistent use of synthesizers and electronic music. The sound that the band has shaped is personal and massive, very close to the Emo Punk influences coming from the US.
In May 2007, the band has recorded a 9-tracks CD, which has been released in Italy by Nerdsound/Ammonia Records in Otober '07.
