Round Table Knights / It`s Funny How Money Changes The Situation / Murda Boy Records
Swiss turntablist trio the Round Table Knights hail from the ghettos of Bern, or rather, the idyllic gold-plated streets of Switzerlands capital city. Ostensibly they share the same mould as 2 Many DJs or the Glimmers, yet they claim “It`s Funny How Changes the Situation” is not just another mash-up album. Which is not exactly true, theyve simply scrimped on the novelty factor. From hip hop kings One Self, via The Cure and Ray Charles, the soul and funk is soon stripped back to reveal a seedy electronic underbelly characterised by SebastiAn`s “Dolami” and spliced with Miss Kittin importuning you to "die before dishonour". M.I.A., Vitalic, Roots Manuva and Justice`s Simian-sampling Trash anthem “Never Been Alone” also feature. 4/5

Don't think for a minute Baltimore is going anywhere in '07 either. Swiss kids the Round Table Knights have brought a modern electro element to the sound, and made one of those rare cheeky American sampling Baltimore tracks that is not only amusing, but is also actually very good. I'm looking forward to their visit to the UK at the end of February.

Bio
The Round Table Knights are a DJ / producer duo consisting of Questionmark and Biru Bee. If you had to choose one single word to characterize them it could only be “diversity”. The RTK play all kinds of electronic / acoustic / futuristic / exciting / romantic / intense music. Their bright musical horizon is loved and enjoyed in clubs and at festivals such as Sonar Festival Barcelona , Popkomm Berlin, SXSW Texas or Montreux Jazz Festival. "It's all about the mix" they say. Since 2002 the “Knights” are throwing parties all over Switzerland and inviting guests from different musical genres. They hosted and played alongside: TTC, Beastie Boys, Holy Ghost!, Spank Rock, Coco Rosie, Justice as well as Modeselektor, Simian Mobile Disco, Soulwax, M.I.A, Crookers or Poni Hoax, just to mention a few. The "Roundies" have successfully released two mix CDs, a limited edition 7", a Remix 12" and in 2008 they finally put out their first EP "Hold Me Back". Their remixes for Crookers, Radioclit, El Guincho, Bonaparte and Gameboy/Gamegirl get supported by Brodinski, Sinden, Annie Mac (BBC Radio 1), Digitalism, Diplo, Shir Kahn and many more. Constantly releasing remixes and new productions, you just can't miss the Round Table Knights on whatever dancefloor.
