Bio
The Draymin hail from a hut in the town of Rosyth, Fife, Scotland.
Inspired by a love of guitar and dance music – they have gained a massive hometown following – proving this with a 1000 strong sellout crowd at Dunfermline’s Velocity in December of 2009.
Since then they have kept the momentum going with the release of their double A-Side single – ‘Heart Attack/Hold Your Position’ in May of 2010, followed up with the ‘We Will Fall’ single release in August, both of which received rave reviews throughout the U.K national press.
2010 saw the band play Brighton’s Great Escape Festival, Liverpool Soundcity Festival, a massive hometown show at The Alhambra Theatre, Dunfermline and a slot at T In The Park Festival where they were welcomed by the biggest crowd of the whole weekend in a packed out 2000 capacity TBreak tent. They rounded the year off with another new single in November with ‘Here We Are Again/Won’t Stop’.
So far this year the band have headed South on a mini tour of England, starting in London where they played as part of Luke Clothing’s 10 year anniversary celebrations and working our way north to complete the tour in Manchester a week later. We have also performed twice at London’s famous ‘This Feeling’ clubnight, performed a live session for The Sun Newspaper, played Liverpool Soundcity Festival for the second year running and been asked to perform at the opening party for Luke Clothing’s new Birmingham store. To add to this we have played at Rockness 2011 & been asked back by promoters Goldenvoice/AEG to play their stage in 2012 – this makes us the first band confirmed for the 2012 festival. AEG have also invited us on a support tour later in the year (artist still to be confirmed). We’ve also supported The Charlatans, Frank Turner & Jon Fratelli and are finishing the year by recording our 1st studio album.
Our latest release ‘Smoke & Mirrors’ (March 2011) Received similar acclaim from the national press & made it to Number 72 in the iTunes alternative chart, not bad for an unsigned band self promoting through Facebook!
Here is a brief history of their most notable achievements to date:

T In The Park 2007, SXSW 2007, Rockness 2008 2010 & booked for 2012, Wickerman 2008, Belladrum 2008, In The City 2008, The Great Escape - Brighton 2010, Liverpool Soundcity 2010 & 2011, T In The Park 2010.

“Up and coming rock mob THE DRAYMIN are responsible for one of the best covers the Bizarre Sessions has seen. The Scots band unleashed a reworked version of Adele’s tearjerker ‘Someone Like You’. And it was so good the hairs on the back of my neck were standing up. The as yet unsigned band from Dunfermline, Fife are being stalked by all the major record labels. They played a sell-out show at This Feeling on Friday and raised the roof. Frontman Fraser Penman showed the band have the presence and the tunes to be a big tip for the future. Mirrors and Don’t Fade Away are nailed on hits. Gordon Smart – THE SUN
“Check out THE DRAYMIN, a five-piece from Rosyth, Fife Latest song Heart Attack is absolutely to drawer, they are one for the future.” Gordon Smart – THE SUN
"4/5, The Fife lads have traded their epic indie sound for dramatic synth-rock on this comeback single. The effect is a bit like Kasabian jamming with Howard Jones. The flip side's Hold Your Position, meanwhile, is a more in-yer-face guitar-led affair that'll be great on stage." Tim Barr – News Of The World
"Heart Attack - a fantastic track from the Fife band that instantly hits you. It's pounding and accomplished with lots going on. Anguished pleading vocals mixed with a heavy pulsing background and tight instrumentation. Love it."
Avril Cadden – The Sunday Mail
“We Will Fall – This track from the band from Rosyth is steeped in a passionate vocal and a dark brooding instrumental build up. It’s well worth checking out. Avril Cadden – The Sunday Mail
“Equal parts indie pop, melodic dance, and stadium band, The Draymin’s polished sound is guitar-led, crowd pleasing, and pulses with a relentless energy.” T In The Park Website 2010
“The best unsigned band in the country” Jim Gellatly – Radio Clyde / Amazing Radio / Ex-XFM Scotland
