DSA 2012 Songwriting Contest

Now in its 22nd year, The DSA 2012 Song Contest is one of the longest running international song contests for amateur songwriters. Offering over $5,000 in cash and prizes this year, the DSA has eight categories in all. This amateur songwriting contest will be judged on lyrics, melody, form, and originality.

You may submit as many songs as you wish, in one or multiple categories, and the contest is open to all genres.

Each song must be submitted to one of the following categories:

• Country


• Pop/Rock/RandB/Alternative


• Americana/Folk/Bluegrass


• Christian/Inspirational


• Love Songs/Easy Listening


• Children's/Novelty


• Singer-Songwriter


• Instrumental

The DSA Annual Song Contest is open to any amateur songwriter. (This contest defines “amateur” as a songwriter who has not earned more than $5,000 from songwriting-related royalties, works for hire, or advances since January 1, 2007). Artists are required to upload lyrics for each submitted song.
