Sonicbids is very proud to offer this exclusive opportunity to SwitzerlandÂ’s 2 biggest summer festivals with one submission. Both the Open Air St Gallen and the Gurten Festival have opened submissions this year through Sonicbids and both have reserved, paid slots for Sonicbids members. Here is a some information on the festivals:
Open Air St Gallen
This, the 31st edition of the Open Air St Gallen festival will be the best yet. 90,000 people are expected over three days (30,000 people per day) from the 29th of June thru the 1st of July. Open Air St. Gallen is located at the Sittertobel in St. Gallen, Switzerland. The event takes place on 3 stages and features Rock, Punk, Alternative, Electronic, Hip-Hop, Ska, Reggae, World Music, Comedy and more.
Previous Performers include: Santana, Black Sabbath featuring Ozzy Osbourne, Foo Fighters, Buddy Guy, Beastie Boys, James Brown, Cypress Hill, Sex Pistols, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Ziggy Marley, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Smashing Pumpkins, Wyclef Jean, Muse, Crosby, Stills and Nash, Black Eyed Peas, Van Morrison, Franz Ferdinand, Air, Fatboy Slim, 311, Ben Folds Five, Morcheeba, Counting Crows, Garbage, Chemical Brothers, Groove Armada and more.
Partners of the Festival include DRS 3 – Swiss National Radio, MTV, St Galler Tagblatt and 20 Minuten who all provide special coverage of the event.

Gurtenfestival Berne
The Gurtenfestival Berne in Berne, Switzerland dates back 24 years. Over 64,00 people attend the festival, which lasts 4 days (roughly 16,000 people per day) and features 2 stages. In 2007, the dates for the festival are the 19th-22nd of July.
The Gurtenfestival Berne accepts submissions from artists in the following genres: Rock, Pop, Alternative, Punk, Metal, Hip-Hop, Reggae, Electronica, Ska, Latin, Blues and World Music.

This year, for the first time, both Open Air St. Gallen and The Gurtenfestival Berne are reserving 2 performance slots for Sonicbids artists: 1 Swiss and 1 non-Swiss artist will be selected for each festival. All selected artists will be monetarily compensated. Swiss artists will be paid $500 USD and non-Swiss artists will receive $2,000 USD..
