JUST ANNOUNCED: The deadline for submissions has been extended to Tuesday, June 14th. Brooklyn Bodega has just announced a Second Stage at the festival, and are also looking for artists to perform at the Under the Influence art show and the official Brooklyn Bodega showcase at Brooklyn's Northside Festival.
This is your FINAL CHANCE to get involved with the 2011 Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival. Presented by Brooklyn Bodega, the Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival is one of Americas premier hip hop events, and is known for giving independent artists the chance to perform alongside legends like Pete Rock & CL Smooth, Big Daddy Kane, De La Soul, Ghostface Killah, Group Home, Masta Ace, Smif N Wessun, Lupe Fiasco (in his NYC debut), and many more. Random Axe (Sean Price, Guilty Simpson, and Black Milk) and legendary DJs Marley Marl, Grand Wizzard Theodore, Roli Rho, and Twilite Tone have just been added to the 2011 festival lineup alongside Q-Tip (and "friends"), M.O.P., Torae, eLZhi, Homeboy Sandman, Eternia, Shad, Nitty Scott and Kid Glyde.
At least 15 Sonicbids artists are guaranteed to perform throughout the week-long Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival. One artist from outside the NYC area will receive a mainstage slot and $500, and all artists who submit will also be considered for other festival events including slots on the festival's Second Stage, the Under the Influence art show, Show and Prove showcases, and the Northside Festival showcase. Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival Second Stage:
Brooklyn Bodega is proud to announce that the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival Main Day will feature a second performance stage! Located in the Tobacco Warehouse, across from the Brooklyn Bridge Plaza, the Second Stage will provide live music to Hip Hop heads enjoying the Estria Invitational Graffiti Battle.
Under The Influence:
Brooklyn Bodega is proud to announce the addition of Under The Influence to its week of Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival programming! Under The Influence is an art show that will showcase the evolution of graffiti into street art, as well as feature photography, free giveaways, DJs, & musical performances. Under The Influence will take place on July 12th at powerHouse Arena.
We Got The Jazz:
Brooklyn Bodega, in conjunction with L Magazine, presents We Got The Jazz, an official showcase for the Northside Festival. We Got The Jazz will feature artists that blur the lines between Jazz, Hip Hop, Soul, and R&B, and unite people with these common sensibilities. Performers include The Stuyvesants, Tanya Morgan, Fresh Daily, Che Grand, Naturale, ScienZe, Kooley High, Progress, & Phony PPL. We Got The Jazz will take place on June 16th at Club Europa.
In addition to musical performances, the festival offers a number of activities for its audience, including: panel discussions, exhibitions, parties, an award show and a family-friendly block party
The 3rd and final installment of Show & Prove goes down on June 15th. Deadline to submit via Sonicbids is June 5th. This is the last opportunity to try and secure a spot for the Show & Prove Super Bowl that happens the Monday of Festival week (July 11th). Winners from the April (Clear Soul Forces), May and June (TBD) preliminaries will go head-to-head at the Super Bowl to win a chance to open the stage for headliner Q-Tip on Saturday, July 16th.

Each of these events will be held at the Public Assembly venue in Williamsburg (70 North 6th Street, BK).
