2009 One Movement Music Showcase Festival

Additionally, there will 1 slot offered to a NSW artist, and 1 slot offered to a South Australian artist./n/nAs the largest and most significant international music industry conference and showcasing festival in the southern hemisphere with a strong focus on the Asian-Pacific markets, One Movement for Music Perth is essential for any emerging or export ready artist wanting to find their break in the international music business. The event will showcase 80 emerging and export ready bands over two days.


There are a number of opportunities for artists to showcase at One Movement Music Showcase Festival via Sonicbids, each outlined below.

• There is 1 slot reserved for a Sonicbids artist from North America, who will be paid US$4,000 for their travel to Australia, courtesy of Sonicbids.
  
• There are a minimum of 3 slots reserved for Sonicbids artists from Australia.
  
• Additionally there will 1 slot offered to a NSW artist, care of Arts NSW & Music NSW (go to [insert link to Sonicbids OMFM NSW page]), and 1 slot offered to a South Australian artist, care of Arts SA. The artists selected for the Arts SA & Arts NSW showcase opportunities will be eligible for assistance provided by each respective agency to assist with travel and accommodation to perform at the One Movement Showcase Music Festival.

A One Movement for Music panel of experts will listen to and grade submissions according to a set of criteria established to determine the export readiness of acts. Criteria will include an assessment against areas such as technical ability, level of experience, originality, song writing ability and overall artistic ability.



Here’s the lowdown on the entire event.



One Movement for Music Perth will run from Friday 16 October – Sunday 18 October 2009 in Perth, Australia. The program includes:

• Industry Conference with two conference streams (the One Movement MUSEXPO Asia-Pacific and the One Movement Indie Summit) each running over Saturday and Sunday.
  
  
• A two-day multi-stage outdoor music showcase festival – the One Movement Music Festival. Here you’ll see 80 emerging and export ready bands perform over two days (Saturday and Sunday) on Perth’s picturesque Esplanade. The 80 showcasing artists will include 30 international acts from destinations such as Asia, Europe and the Americas, as well as 50 of Australia’s top emerging and export ready acts.
  
  
• The two-day One Movement Fringe Festival will see music spill on to the streets of Perth’s CBD with a free program of live music performances in public spaces throughout the city.

Please note:

• For the selected artist from North American, half of the $4,000 payment will be paid upon proof of travel arrangements, half paid upon performance at the One Movement for Music.
  
• All selected acts will be required to sign an Artist Performance agreement and recognise a provided Artist Deal Memo.
  
• Acts selected by NSW and SA Arts agencies, will need to liaise with the respective organisation to confirm details of available funding assistance.
