Mississippi Shakedown exist, due to the interest of Alligator Records U.S., the worlds leading Blues Record Label they liked our songs!!!
Jeff Cripps (guitar/vocals) has produced many Australian Blues Bands/Artists who have recorded some of Jeff's original songs and Bruce Iglauer, Mr Alligator said he liked them....so Jeff thought, well, I'll record a few more.
He did, there was a C.D. and of course with every C.D. you must have a band.
Jeff called 3 of his closest mates and so was born MISSISSIPPI SHAKEDOWN..!!!
Misipi has played many of the major Blues Festivals all over Australia, Goulburn, Thredbo, Launceston,Forth Valley, Perth Blues Club, Newcastle.
We've just finalized our 4th C.D. to be called "I Don't Know What I'd Do Without You But I Sure Would Like To Find Out" and we're in negotiations with Austraila's No.1 Blues label "Black Market Records" for it's release..!!!... so that's 4 C.D.'s....we're serious about this...!!!!
Jeff's writing could be described as a bit "satirical" with lines like...
I started with nothing and got most of it left

There ain't no need to worry 'cause things ain't gonna work out no how
How can I be thirsty when i had so much to drink last night
Hard work never hurt nobody but I don't wanna take the chance
Due to Misipi being on several "compilation" CD's, our CD's are currently being played in: Spain, France, Croatia, Hawaii, Germany, U.S., Bosnia, Denmark.
