"Kym McNabney's Writing From the Soul Blog"

Michael McClead is not your typical Christian music. They have a unique style, and sound, almost like Ozzy Osbourne meets Christian music. I almost feel like I'm not listening to Christian music until I focus on the words which are amazing. Each song seems to glide into the next. There's not a bad song on the CD, which says a lot. - Kym McNabney

"Paul Davis of Living Proof Quartet REVIEW"

To all who are seeking a meeting where God’s amazing Grace abounds,

It is rare when you find a truly talented musician. It is also rare when you find an individual who operates under the undeniable anointing of Almighty God. I had the privilege of meeting a group of musicians who met both of these criteria. Michael McClead and his amazing band possess a God given talent that would easily compare to any contemporary Christian group currently in existence. Their style is a solid cross between “Mercy Me” and “Third Day”. But I’d have to add one more. Michael also has a very strong presence of Rev Billy Graham or any other dynamic preacher sharing the Word of God. Michael's concerts are entertainment as well as a walk through a sermon. Each point amplified by an incredible song. My favorite song they perform is a cover song about Mephibosheth called “Carry Me To The Table”. WHAT AN ANOINTED SONG! If you are considering an outreach, not only to the youth, but to ANYONE who will listen, invite Michael and his band. You WILL NOT regret it!

In Christ’s AWESOME Love,

Paul Davis

"LNL Recording Review"

"This was one of the more interesting projects I've had the pleasure of being involved in. So much happened to Michael over the course of this recording. He could write a book about it, I'm sure. In spite of everything he had to endure over the course of the project, Michael never lost focus. He was determined to complete the album and he did!

I listen to the album now and have a hard time remembering all the different sessions that we were involved in. So many elements were added over time. A really lush production. Michael is influenced by many artists but Queen was a sort of reference for much of this. We tried hard to create the same sort of lush vocal harmonies that you'd find in a typical Queen album. Keep in mind though, as you listen to the album, that this is Michael doing all the vocal parts by himself. Pretty amazing when you stop and think about it. Michael had a vision from the beginning of what this album was going to sound like and I think he succeeded in realizing his vision. This is one of those records that you can listen to a dozen times and still find something new that catches your ear. You might not be able to catch everything on the initial listen but if you took anything away, it would diminish the songs.

I'm honored to call Michael a friend and look forward to the next record with him! Much success to you Michael."

"Christian Mix Inet Review"

"I absolutely love your sound and love the ballads. I said that before, but I find myself being "caught" every time "No Reasons Why" is played on the station. Good job, love the vocals, the lyrics, and the music"

Bio

"These songs have been built over a period of 12 years. Some of these songs saw their beginnings during my teen years. The album that is currently in progress represents more than a decade's worth of work and it is my highest hopes that it is worthy of so much time and effort. Throughout the production of this record, I have lost life long friends, seen loved ones go to heaven, learned that I will be a new daddy, and battle a life altering illness. Each song tells a story about my life in music and my relationship with Jesus Christ. Each song is a spiritual testimony about my journey from atheism to the realization of the fact that I am a child of the most high, God. The songs are about failed relationships, failing health, failing hearts and the renewed hope I have found in the one who has conquered death and the world." - Michael McClead. Michael McClead brings over a decade of music business experience to the world of Christian music. In his latest effort, McClead brings a heartfelt singer songwriter project to life with haunting vocals, enchanting strings, and catchy choruses anchored by hip hop loops. His self titled release is unlike any acoustic based record anyone has ever heard and arguably stands alone as a creative force in the world of Christian music. Formerly signed to a Hollywood record company, McClead brings Hollywood label experience to the world of Christian music. McClead has also worked with the late legendary Chicago soundman Jerry Soto (Buddy Guy, Eddie Clearwater, Super Bowl Shuffle) and legendary Hollywood photographer, Marvin Rinnig (David Bowie, Mick Jagger). In addition to his solo material, Michael is also the lead singer of Christian hard rock bands Nothing Can Separate and The Dark Say Goodnight. McClead's born again experience is most noteworthy as the rock n roll lifestyle provided for some serious flaws in McClead's character that were revealed in light of God's perfection "On my own I'm nothing. That has been proven time and time again. Jesus Christ saved me. It is through salvation that I am anything. It is because of His sacrifice that I have any worth whatsoever. God looked down on the Earth and saw that none are good; but, because of the sacrifice of His Son, we can be made righteous in His eyes. His law shined a light onto the darkest areas of my life. He saved me. What more to say?" -Michael McClead. It was through faith in Christ that McClead decided to start Bless the Day Music, an upstart independent and family run Christian record label. "I want Christian artists to have the opportunity to put forth their best artistic effort, without a record label executive standing over the session, trying to pinch pennies and silence the artist's constitutionally protected first ammendment right to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our job, as a family run label, is to sign artists with a real passion for Jesus and to get them set up to evangelize through not just music; but, music that is even better than the stuff we're subjected to on mainstream radio. We are also personally dedicated to treat every artist as if they were a dear member of our own family. We’re still in the developing stages; but, I have the highest faith and hope in what we are doing." -Michael McClead. Unafraid to tackle any subject matter, McClead's songs deal with weighty subjects like abortion and poverty, as well as his own personal testimony on the change of his heart and music that came manifest in the form of Jesus Christ. McClead's first solo album was recorded and mixed with Larry Kriz of LNL Recording and mastered by the SoundLab (Eminem, Jason Newsted, The Roots). The self titled effort will be released through McClead’s own label Bless the Day Music in December 2008. The album will be available at BlesstheDayMusic.com, MichaelMcClead.com, CDBaby.com, ITunes, and other local music stores near you. Be on the lookout for some amazing live shows as McClead teams up with long-time friend Peter Hermes to bring the music to life at a venue near you.
