BLUE STEEL RECORDS SHARES LOVE FOR TRADTIONAL COUNTRY MUSIC WITH LATHAN MOORE DEBUT
Moore's LOVE IN YOUR LIFE Strengthens Indie Label Status; Builds New Artist Buzz

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 2, 2010)-Blue Steel Records will formally introduce its latest product of musical work from the young and talented Illinois-born, Lathan Moore. Moore's debut CD, entitled LOVE IN YOUR LIFE, is available via all major digital outlets now.

A well-rounded blend of honky tonk jams and odes to childhood dreams and young love, LOVE IN YOUR LIFE* (produced by Norro Wilson and Rick Holt) is a sundry of life-like tales, heartfelt ballads and up-tempo tracks with comic relief. Featuring two co-writes and songs crafted by Kevin Mason, Neil Thrasher, Rivers Rutherford and Tony Martin, Moore's Blue Steel introduction will lure in country music lovers new and old.

"He's good looking. He's got a genuine personality. He's a great singer," producer Norro Wilson introduces. "He's a complete package; so, he must be the real thing. What a concept in our business!"

His standout ballad "You Can't Leave Me Like This" (David Berg/Deanna Bryant/Rivers Rutherford), centering around an unrequited, elementary, young love spawned between an idealistic boy and a free-spirited girl, Lathan's sincere vocals move the track from a typical love song to a genuine tale of love lost. "Cornfield Cadillac" (Marty Brown/Marty Brown, Jr./Greg Winkler) is a simply sweet, playful ditty that is a reflection of Lathan's gentler, child-like imagination; while the humorous "Shot Down" (Keith Ridenour/Richie Supa/John Lenons) has all the get-up-and-go, elbow-bending ingredients to become a honky tonk staple.

"Lathan is a young man with an old soul for traditional country music. His performances, songs and musical style speak loud and clear to the country audience," Blue Steel Records label head Steve Pope explains. "His voice and material are a rich tapestry of the artists he admires and he's just a footstep away from stepping into their shoes as a successful career artist."

Lathan Moore is quintessential country. Raised in Harrisburg, Illinois, a mining community, Moore values family, music and hard work. His journey has taken him from Illinois to Texas to Tennessee where he's settled in to make music his life. Moore was courted by a number of labels over the last few years; he found a home at Blue Steel Records (formerly J&V Records) where he signed with the go-getting indie label in 2008. He will release his first single from the CD, entitled "Beautiful Girl" written Wil Nance, Casey Beathard and Buddy Brock, in March (CDX 495/3/15/2010)

The beat goes on for Blue Steel Records. Making waves with the single release "Don't Get No Better Than That," from duo Burns & Poe, to the full-length release ONLY TIME WILL TELL from ingénue Anna Garrott, Moore's LOVE IN YOUR LIFE reinforces Blue Steel's foundation.

"When we started Blue Steel Records a few years ago, we hoped we'd have this kind of talent with us," Pope added. "Lathan, Burns & Poe and Anna Garrott have set the bar high with their talents, dedication and professionalism; folks should get excited about what's coming outta Blue Steel Records!"

Here's Lathan Moore's debut single. It's from his just released Love In Your Live album for Blue Steel Records. Lathan's vocal recalls a mix between Clay Walker and Rick Trevino with a dash of Luke Bryan's charm added for good measure.

"That Nashville Sound"

http://thatnashvillesound.blogspot.com/2010/03/that-nashville-sound-bites-lathan-moore.html

Release Date: January 2010
Music Label: Blue Steel
The Skinny: With a healthy dose of twang and a compliment of steel guitar, Moore raises the flag for traditional country and does a fine job on this, his first album. Standout tracks include "Beautiful Girl" in which, like me, he "married up" out of his league as well as the thoughtful "Cornfield Cadillac" in which he recalls using an old Cadillac up on cinderblocks as his childhood playroom. It "took them around the world parked in Paris, Tennessee."
Sounds Like: Joe Diffie & Wade Hayes
Standout Tracks: "Beautiful Girl”, “Cornfield Cadillac”
The Verdict: Three Stars Out Of Five - That Nashville sound

"Lathan and Tracy Lawrence"

TRACY LAWRENCE 4th ANNUAL MISSION POSSIBLE TURKEY FRY A SMOKIN’ HOT SUCCESS

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (November 25, 2009)—Country music superstar and hitmaker, Tracy Lawrence, along with his entire staff (road crew, band and administrative personnel), some famous friends, members of his church congregation, local media and volunteers from the Nashville Rescue Mission joined together yesterday (Tuesday, November 24, 2009) to lend a hand at the 4th Annual Tracy Lawrence Mission Possible. Held for the benefit of the Nashville Rescue Mission, the group of over 100 fried-up turkeys for the meal kitchen’s Thanksgiving dinner.

Some of Music City’s biggest and brightest names showed up to cook and visit with volunteers and fans. Joining Lawrence to fry up more than 400 turkeys were Lorrie Morgan, Brad Arnold (Three Doors Down), Darryl Worley, Preston Brust (LoCash Cowboys,) Burns & Poe, Robert Reynolds, Trent Tomlinson, The Roys, radio personalities Big D & Bubba, newcomers Ash Bowers, Lathan Moore and Michael Scott, and the Titans Cheerleaders.

“I am always humbled by the outpouring of support and service from the folks that come out for the turkey fry,” Lawrence states. “It was a great day and great to see so many people participate in an event that helps those less fortunate in Nashville. It is because of them, thousands will be fed on this holiday; it is because of them, I am truly thankful.”

Donations of turkeys, clothing and cash were collected throughout the day; the final figure tallied at 600 birds and cash donations collected at just under $10,000. In that the event customarily yields an overwhelming amount of food, the Nashville Rescue Mission shares the turkeys with other area non-profit organizations including the Second Harvest Food Bank and Meals On Wheels.

This year’s Mission Possible was made possible by the caring organizations who donated turkeys, oil, fryers, jackets for the volunteers and more, including: Bass Pro Shops, Blue Rhino, Tyson, Carhartt, Brand Centrik, Star Photo and Hot Hands.

Approaching his 20th year in the music industry and having played nearly 100 dates in the last eleven months alone, this community event is the official, un-official conclusion to Lawrence’s aggressive schedule for 2009. The active songwriter, musician and performing artist (with more than 8 million albums sold) shows no signs of slowing his pace. He released his inspirational CD entitled THE ROCK in June and a new project is currently in the works.

Bio

Lathan Garrett Moore, 27 years old, from Harrisburg, Illinois has been singing since the age of four. Growing up in a small coal mining community where his father worked the mines for 35 years gave Lathan an appreciation for hard work and perseverance. After graduating from Harrisburg High School in 2001, Lathan joined a country Gospel Quartet called "Eastern Sky" to sing baritone and toured for two years throughout the Mid-east and Ohio Valley. Lathan also was a member of the Reliance Quartet from Paducah, Kentucky, where he sang lead.
Lathan was very active in the theatre and performing arts and played the lead roles in "Phantom of the Opera", "Beauty and the Beast", "My Fair Lady", "Annie", "The Grinch", "Annie Get Your Gun" and "A Funny Thing Happened On the Way to the Forum". Shortly after opening for the Gaither Vocal Band, Lathan moved to Plainview, TX for school at Wayland Baptist University. While in Texas Lathan continued to develop his interest in country music. After completing a year of college, Lathan returned to Harrisburg, Illinois to work in the mines in order to save enough money to move to Nashville, Tennessee so he could pursue his career as a country music singer.

In 2004, Lathan entered the Southern Illinois Regional Colgate Country Showdown in Carmi, Illinois and finished in 2nd place. As a result, he was contacted by Chelsea Studios in Nashville, Tennessee to do some recording and for six months, traveled back and forth recording song demos. In 2004, Lathan finally had saved enough money to make the move from Illinois to Nashville and began performing in local venues and at private corporate events. Lathan plays the guitar, trumpet, trombone, and tuba and is currently developing his songwriting craft. Lathan has recently signed a recording contract with Blue Steel Records and finished his debut album.
