Unlike many young Pop artists today, Kristina writes her own lyrics, composes and arranges the music, and heads up the production and recording process of her songs. Since her arrival in Los Angeles from Florida four years ago, she has quickly become known for her powerful stage presence and impressive songwriting skills. Kristina has performed regularly throughout the Los Angeles area, first with the all-female group "The Family Jewels" and most recently as a solo artist. Plans for a regional tour are in the works as well as the release of an EP which will feature a collection of songs written and performed by Kristina and her band.

Kristina Pupo stares back earnestly enough on the cover of her debut album, Things I Never Say leading listeners to believe shes got a secret. A Florida native, she graduated from Columbia College Hollywood and writes her own music, lyrics, and plays a host of instruments. Described as eclectic and soulful,Pupo ‘s music is often a mixture of funky pop melodies and deeply personal lyrics.
Things I Never Say starts off with “Born In the City” an upbeat pop ditty filled with familiar mainstream elements as is “Late Night” which features a slower paced rhythm. Pupo’s rather capable voice is overshadowed at times by back up vocals, the production values for the track however, are superior to other tracks on the album.
“Missing” is a stripped down stand out that lets Pupo’s voice shine while “Hey Sexy” takes a stab at the seductive nature the singer aims herself for on the majority of the album. Pupo slows it down several times on the album, including songs like “Villian” with the vocalist warbling over the chorus.
Overall, there are enjoyable spots on the album, where interesting elements and hooks are interlaced with some spots on production values. However, there are too many times where tracks stall in mundane territory traversed by almost every pop starlet on the market. Pupo could stand to create more tracks like “The Hardest Thing” where it’s all stripped down to just her and a acoustic guitar for better results.

Bio
A torn piece of notebook paper was taped to the door, on it "Sunshine Studios" was scribbled in magic marker. And perhaps unknowingly, I began my journey as a recording artist right there in my bedroom at the bold age of six.
Kristina Pupo is one of those rare artists who found her passion and gift for music at an extraordinarily young age. By the time she was in high school, she had already written and recorded her own songs, often times playing all of the instruments.
A Florida native, Kristina relocated to Los Angeles, CA. in 2005 in order to pursue her love for music and film in a broader market. She graduated from Columbia College Hollywood, and has often combined her music, performance and filmmaking skills in her dynamic live performances and video. This unique combination of talents is one of the many things that set this rising star apart from the myriad of female singer/songwriters on the music scene today.
While Kristina is considered a pop music artist, she separates herself from the masses by writing her own music, lyrics, and playing a variety instruments. Her sound is sultry, eclectic, and soulful; often blending funky pop melodies with deeply personal, poetic lyrics.
“My greatest musical influence, oddly enough, is not a musical artist," explains Kristina. “It is people; living in the world, analyzing behavior, observing humanity and holding on to a faith in humanity. I have seen corruption and love in the same day, every day. This is where my music comes from.”
In addition to countless live performances throughout the Los Angeles area, guest appearances in NYC local television and charity events, Kristina recently staged a two act concert, Pump up the Drama: Benefit Concert, to raise money for the Theater Arts Program at Coral Gables Senior High. The elaborate concert, available on YouTube, successfully funded a brand new lighting system for the singer's Alma Mater. From coordinating her own concerts, to the three music videos she has under her belt, Kristina Pupo is no stranger to the director's chair. Her most recent video release, a sexy spy thriller for her single Sweat, is chock-full of fast cuts and action packed visuals that highlight her ingenuity as a musician, performer and visual artist.
In April of 2010, Kristina has released her first full length CD, titled Things I never Say. The highly anticipated album is now available on Itunes and Amazon.com. The album produced three music videos for it's singles Missing, Hey Sexy, and most recently Sweat - all available on YouTube. Currently, Kristina Pupo has just released a bonus track to Things I Never Say, entitled Running. A music video for Running was shot on location in Chicago, Amelia Island, and Miami and will premiere in April 2012. The release of Kristina Pupo's sophomore album, Inside Out, is due this May of 2012.
