As for RCB Novus Ordo: Standout debuts out of the 8 I spun on the 3/28/10 edition include Inky Glass, Ben Bedford, and Radagun. Inky Glass is Heidi Kolman, who walks apparent parallels in her music and songwriting. There's a quiet magnetic pull there that you'll either pick up on or not. I can say, after repeated listens, that I do, and I'm a fan. - http://sites.google.com/site/radiocrystalblue/news
She is definitely a talent, singer Inky Glass from the Bronx, New York. She lets With her debut CD "Miss Fit" a huge impression on me. Her voice similar to the legendary Nico and the many unknown French singer Hermine Demoriane. Hermine overwhelmed me in 1984 with her debut ep World On My Plates. You hear on this CD eight melodic, sometimes complainants blues and folk songs with clear influences from Janis Joplin, Patti Smith, Billie Holiday and Tom Waits. The atmosphere in this studio CD is that is an open-mic night at a small cafe. Sometimes Inky Glass (real name Heidi Kohlman) just an indomitable hyena (R OSes), but you hear the dark side of her Cortar De La Venas ( "Six more miles to your suicide").She sings in a way that the inside of the human brain in stirring vigorously. Twenty minutes is the singer and understated then raw and furious including texts about the Harlem neighborhood and the death of her dear friend. Although the eight songs are often difficult and violently passionate sound on the CD do Inky Glass "Miss Fit" the musical bow to the end to keep tension.

Miss Fit opens with "Smokin Yesterday's Cigarettes", a dark paean to a friend who's passed on. The shared life reflected in the song is a hard one, and Inky Glass sings like a 1960's coffee house singer. Hers is not a pretty voice, but one roughened and tanned by years of hard living and harder experience. "Tangled In Your Web" speaks to dysfunction of the sort that occurs when relationships become mired in drugs. Glass' stark, simple explanations provide a more artistic view than the most high-brow poetry. "Harlem In The 80's" gives credence to the idea that people's situations are much of their own choosing no matter how undesirable. "Miss Fit" details a state of mind where up is down, left is right, and the social rules that most people understand simply don't apply. "Cortar De La Venas" is a dark rant on suicide from a soul intent on the subject. In "Flowers", Inky Glass offers up an equally unvarnished view of domestic violence and the patterns that allow it to continue. Miss Fit represents the mostly lucid triangulations of a mind that's traveled life's emotional rough waters.

Inky Glass has a raw, genuine delivery and a somewhat ironic songwriting style. Her lyrics take you by surprise, and while they may be a little dark, they do display a clever use of words. - IndieMusic.com

Bio
Inky started out in the theater as a "Triple Threat". She has performed internationally as such in established and original work, tap dancing, singing, acting, and dong an annoying street mime act based on Charlie Chaplain. Since 2008, Inky picked up her guitar, and has been singing the Blues in Coffeehouses, Festivals, and Bars up and down the East Coast.
Inky is influenced by a wide variety of brilliant artists with favorites such as Robert Johnson, Janis Joplin, Leonard Cohen, Big Mama Thornton Bob Dylan and Lou Reed; Inky's sound is Smokey, achy, and opaque. Shes got thoughtful emotion pulling lyrics, and one powerhouse of a voice. If you dont already drink Jack Daniels, you will after you hear her.
