"The 11 songs on Found Things are well put together IDM tracks that spread nicely along the electronic music spectrum. The songs are delicate without being brittle and varied without being scatterbrained. Starting with the staccato guitar sample of “Window and Wall,” which builds into a textured, Books-esqe ambient song, the record is a strong collection." - Reviler.org

"It’s not too big of a surprise that Davis has created strong backing tracks – his downtempo beats and synth flourishes are reliably magnificent. Hearing Heggen take more of an isolated vocal role, however, is a rewarding revelation – his voice is warm and welcoming at times (the track “June” is a good example), and heartbreaking at other times (the closer “Playing Along”). And somehow, the melodies and arrangements all seem to complement each other in the best possible ways, shining together and never getting in each others’ ways." - Des Moines Music Coalition
"Having heard some of Mickey Davis’s previous output under the Is Home Is moniker, it’s always been clear that 22 year old from Des Moines has talent in abundance, especially where the atmospherical progression of his music in involved. Teaming up with Danny Heggen (Seedlings) after working together on a remix, MAIDS was born, and on their debut EP Maid Up, they both truly come into their own." - Crack in the Road
"At 21-years-old, this St. Paul, Minn. transplant has a sound beyond his years. Watch him onstage and you’ll find yourself pulled in. His stage persona and frequent smile flashes will have you shaking and grooving just as hard as Mickey. He’s one of those young musicians that constantly brings something new to the scene, and will continue to for years to come.
His music: Full of slow crescendos and stolid breakdowns, Is Home Is is a solid bet as an opener or a headliner. His versatility allows for all kinds of fans (and dance moves). Be prepared for James Blake-esque escalating tunes with quick switches between songs. He puts on a show that you can’t get enough of—every song and transition hits a different mood. Discovering something new with Is Home Is isn’t hard. He shares new ideas and song leads on his SoundCloud, letting the listener in on his song creation progress. Because really knowing the music before you get to a show is the best part." - Des Moines Music Coalition
"Found Things forces you to pay attention. It controls your brain without you even knowing it. The sounds are made in a way to act as if you are no longer in control of your own body or thoughts. The beats and the sounds are done at such a precise and intellectually stimulating way that you’ll find yourself with a spatula drumming on your sink until your smoke alarms go off and your Hungry Jack pancakes with blueberries are essentially ruined." - Iowaves Music Blog
