After developing into one Australia’s biggest acts on commercial radio last year (Top 10 on national radio), Sheppard returned in 2014 with their ARIA #1, and triple platinum hit single, ‘Geronimo’ - the first track from their highly anticipated debut album, titled ‘Bombs Away’, which will hit stores on July 11.
The band’s breakthrough hit ‘Let Me Down Easy’ ignited radio airwaves around the world last year, hitting the Top 20 ARIA and airplay charts in Australia and the Top 10 in Thailand. The single, which is on its way to double platinum sales in AU/NZ, cracked the Top 100 on the CMJ college radio charts in the US last year and received further chart success in New Zealand, Holland and Thailand.
Since touring to sold-out crowds in North America in 2012, Sheppard have played to audiences in the UK, The Philippines, Europe, Thailand, South Africa and India. Their second single ‘Geronimo’ has taken the world by storm, hitting the top of the ARIA charts in Australia achieving triple platinum status, and breaking the all-time record for longest running #1 single by an independent Australian artist. The success of Geronimo has led to a global signing to Decca Records (UK), who will release ‘Geronimo’ on 14 July 2014.
The band will head out on the road with Keith Urban through June for his “Light the Fuse” national tour ahead of their much-anticipated album release in July.
