When you ask Will Porter, "As a musician, what do you want to be known for?," his response is swift and simple: "Passion." Will's passion for life and music is written all over him and the songs he writes and performs. At the ripe old age of 15, singing with his hometown choir in southeast Oklahoma, Will hit his first perfect high note and experienced that adrenaline rush some people hear about but never actually experience. From that moment on, Will knew what he wanted to do. Add acoustic guitar to the mix, along with Will's natural gift for songwriting ... throw in a kick-ass drummer (Walton McMurry) and friends on bass and electric guitar ... and you have PorterHouse! To hear Will is to feel Will. He radiates positive energy and those lucky enough to hear him perform in person can't help but walk away feeling good about life. Simply put, Will delivers passion in spades. - By Dot Rhyne - Bricktown Chevy Showcase 2011

PorterHouse was born from the idea to collaborate the acoustic music of Will Porter (lead singer) with the musical ideas of Walton McMurry (drummer). The name PorterHouse is actually derived from the name of Will Porter's home studio: PorterHouse Studios.
Will Porter, who started singing, playing guitar, and writing songs at the age of fifteen is no stranger to the stage. For the past decade Will has been entertaining audiences of all sorts in much of Oklahoma and North Texas. His first sign of success was with the band Cardinal Trait (Emanon Records) where he played bass guitar and sang back up vocals. After several years of relentless gigging, Will found himself forging his own musical path and left Cardinal Trait to start his own band, where he began writing, performing, and gaining supportive followers of his music.
Walton McMurry joined the band in late 2009 after watching Will perform at an open mic night. Walton, currently working on his Master's Degree in Jazz Studies-Performance from the University of Central Oklahoma, had just graduated with his Bachelor's Degree in Percussion Performance from Southeastern Oklahoma State University and was looking for a musical opportunity when he met Will at the open mic night. After having a few jam sessions, the chemistry was evident, thus, was the birth of PorterHouse.
Will Porter and Walton McMurry have formed an amazing friendship, exciting and passionate music, and a drive to accomplish great things through: Porterhouse!!
